As a B_day present I went to the Derby and sat 10 rows above the tarp yesterday. If you havent watched it, turn on ESPN Sportscenter after this and watch it!!!!!!!!!

Okay I start out getting there, there are 75% Good 'ol Yanks fans, about20% Met fans and 5% Other (Mostly Phillies and Boston). It seems the buzz is going around about josh Hamilton, someone I am very familiar with. 90 RBIs, 20+ HRs and a 300+ average will definitely get people talking!

So it starts out and Dan Uggla his 6 HRs
Grady Sizemore goes second and hits 6 but 3 or 4 were MONSTER Upper-deckers
Evan Longoria, the rookie chokes and hits 3
Chase Utley chokes in the beginning but speeds up at the end, he only pumps out 5 though
Lance Berkman goes and fails in the beginning but warms up and rallies and gets 8, the new lead.
Justin Morneau also gets 8
Ryan Braun gets 7

Josh Hamilton absolutely craps on everyone. 28 HOMERUNS IN THE FIRST ROUND. THE STADIUM WAS GOING NUTS, EVERYONE CHANTING HAM-IL-TON. There was play where some fan reached over the wall and got a ball, it was clearly an out but everyone wanted a nother Homer for Hamilton. After the umpire called it an out everyone was chanting ASS-HOLE, ASS-HOLE, it was hilarious. He ends the round with 28, a new record.

In the next round the Homeruns carry over, the semi-finalists are: Berkman, Morneau, Braun and HAMILTON.

Theoretically Berkman or Morneau need to hit 20 Homeruns in the second round to contest with Hamilton, pretty much Josh doesnt have to swing. Instead of sitting it all out, he takes a few swings and bombs a few, yet gets out 4 times. You can see he is fatigued and the stadium is a bit nervous for him.

The finals fall through as Morneau (17 HR) and Hamilton (31 HR)

You can clearly see Ha,ilton is beat and Morneau, is not tired at all.

Morneau goes first and only gets 5 (The HR from previous rounds dont carry over), all Hamilton needs is 6 to win it.

He blew it... He only got 3, and he was very tired as it looked on the screen.

Afterwards there were interviews for Morneau, but everyone left, as if Morneau didnt exist, they wanted Hamilton to win.

Although Morneau won, Hamilton was the king of the Night, and no one can disagree.

Oh yeah and HAppy B-Day to me

Hah yeah its baseball.

Pretty much the top 8 sluggers get a chance to hit homeruns in front of a huge crowd.

Rules:

-Each batter gets 10 outs
-any swing the doesnt result in a Homerun (A ball over the fence) is an out
-Round 1 = 8 players, Round 2 = 4 players Final Round = 2 players

I watched bits and pieces of it but Baseball in general is a terrible sport.

I was amazed at how many he hit in the first round. I saw the second half of his AB and couldn't look away. I'm glad that an ex-Red Wing won though. Morneau is an underappreciated asset to the Twins.

Not quite its more like the people who are doing good that most people don't know.
