I want to know.
Theres been stuff being said where he and the camera crew go to a hotel or something and sleep there.
But I dont see how they get shots of him sleeping at night and then go and sleep at a hotel.
I'm just wondering if its fake.

I really don't care if it is fake or not. The point of the show is to educate people on how to survive in the wild in the worse scenario. EVEN IF it is fake, it still shows people how do survive.

My thoughts exactly. I remember two parts:
Quicksand " Don't fall here. BUT, if you do, do exactly what I will do." *jumps into quicksand*
Ice water. " If you fall into here, you'll die of hypothermia. Many people can't get out, but this is how you get out.." *jumps into Ice.

My one was when he caught that snake and swung it and hit its head against a rock to kill it. It was freaking so funny and then when he woke up the next day he did a backflip off a cliff into the river below...basically Bear Grylls is my hero.
EDIT: user title! :p jk

exactly. thats what i tell everyone who trys to say bear is a poser..that guy is purely badass. yes it is somewhat not all the way truthful because he doesnt actually stay the night in the places he visits but he COULD if it were neccessary...if you were getting paid a ton to do that stuff why stay for no reason?

Yeah, I think it's all "fake" in the sense it's a TV show which goes through production just like any other show they put on air. IMO reality TV has more production/fakeness put into it than other types of TV show (even wrestling). Wrestling is a production, but they only get one take. So they have to get it right the first time.
But in the end it really comes down to whether or not you enjoy watching it, and I enjoy watching it.
One thing's for sure, there risks associated with any shows like this and that you can't fake.

Man vs wild is "fake" they openly admit it, he has a crew of like a dozen people that follow him around. Survivorman on the other hand, goes out by himself (but im sure he has a cell phone or something... hes not totally on his own)

I think those are bad examples because do you really think they would let anything happen to him? He has a camera crew.
I like the other show like this one where the guy is by himself and he sets up a few different cameras. Survival Man I think it is called.

In a few episodes you can see cars on a highway... He also stayed at hotels I believe.
Survivorman FTW

I always debate this in my class :p
Anyway I think it is fake because of the stuff already mentioned in this thread. But he does do some serious shit. Sleeping in Camels FTW.

The locations he is in are not where he says they are but things such as starting a fire and getting food are real.

It's not meant to be completly real. he is just using stratagies that he has learned, putting them on a TV show, and passing his knowledge on to the viewer. Survivor man is real, MvW is not, but it is still a badass show and hasa probably helped people along the line if they ever get stuck.
