All my Turtle Beach sets are used, I haven't spent over $100.00 on my headsets ;) 2 X2's and a pair of X3's. It's not like you can't clean them ;)

Meh. I want my shit new. Clean or not...you never know what kind of gross persons ears have been on them.
Like that black dude Brian and I saw at the game store. Scratching his strange skin.

So are those headsets and heaphones? I dont' quite understand what these things do. How do they sync up to the 360? I just use the regular 360 headset, but wireless would be sweet.

They produce sound and you can talk into them like a normal mic and keep things quite at night. Pretty damn cool. I got some X1's which are just the wireed version.

so all the game sound goes to the headphones then? how does it do for surround effects? can it be used as just a headset without the game audio coming through as well?

The sound from your TV (normally from your TV, but actually from your XBOX ;)) comes through the speakers on your head from a wireless thingie up by your TV that plugs into your red and white RCA cables (w/ a built in splitter so your TV will still work without unplugging anything) Then you have a little cable which runs from the headset to your XBOX controller and it plugs in there, then when you talk into the mic it goes down the little cable to the XBOX, and the sound from your teammates comes through the speakers on your head and the sound from the TV comes through the speakers on your head.
With the X3's you can adjust how loud people's communication voice is and how loud the TV sound is independently, they also have mic feedback so you can hear yourself through the headset, it helps you keep from having the normal effect while wearing headphones of talking too damned loud ;)
For $40 I'd say these are worth anybody picking up.
Oh, and I got mine for $35 back then too, but they don't exactly have them for sale anymore now, do they???
And yes, you could use them just as a headset without the game sound, but why would you ever want to do that???
Oh, and they don't have true surround sound, but they have some crap which mimics it quite well, I can pinpoint sound in "good" FPS's quite easily... much better than my actual surround sound.

Ya you can choose to turn the game sound all the way down and just hear the voices. I'm not sure about surrond sound but you hook it up directly to your TV.

So I just did a little reseacrh and these are not truly wireless like I thought since you still have to plug it into your controller. That's kinda lame IMO. It's too bad they can't find a way to get rid of that cable and make them completely wireless.
Thanks for the info guys and good find v0lum3!

They could make them wireless... but here's the deal: They retail for $100.00 already, adding in truly wireless means they need to get that crap from microsoft so it'll sync up like the wireless headset... that crap's gonna cost like $200.00... I'm not paying that for a headset :p
And trust me, the cord never really gets in the way, I mean how often are you that far away from your controller anyways??? (except maybe you, cuz you sings all the time, but they're more for regular gaming, and besides, you can use the mic as a mic :p) The cable unplugs ridiculously easy, after a few weeks of muscle memory you can plug it back in without even feeling around.
I seriously don't know how I got by in online shooters before these things, they're that damn good. Oh, and I don't believe I could play the stock RB kit without a pair of headphones, the clicking would have driven me insane :p

Exactly, I stand up when I do vox all the time cuz I use a mic stand and I was hoping to have a way to stand without holding a controller in my hand to use the headset to talk to bandmates.
