Brett Favre was traded to the New York Jets, a little disappointing considering they aren't a great team. I was hoping he would go to the Vikings.

It's a possibility that he still could be traded to the Vikes from the Jets. I'm just pissed that my Bills will have to face him twice this year:mad:

Dude if they trade Favre to the Vikings that would royally piss Green Bay off, I personally hope they do it. All this talk about Favre being a pre-madonna is bullshit, the Packers need to look at themselves in a mirror and just see how they've acted through all of this.

I am a huge Favre fan and have been for a while now. I am disappointed to see him going to a "non - contender" team like the Jets. I think the Packers were smart by not trading him to a NFC team. I don't think they really want to face him. I mean he is the greatest QB of all time.

I would like to see him win another ring before he is done for good but as long as he is on the Jets, I don't see that happening considering they are in the AFC and right now the AFC is the powerhouse conference.

There was no way GB was gonna trade him to the Vikings, but the Jets can get alot from Minnesota if they trade Favre to them.

Actually from what I heard on ESPN if the Jets trade him to the Vikings they have to give up 3 first round draft picks. I'd personally like to see him with the Bears though, with him as quarterback they'd be great IMO.

lol qft! I am getting tickets to the Bills home game vs the Jets this year. Even though I can't stand Favre, I'm not passing up a chance to see him in Buffalo in November.

The Jets would get alot from the Vikes yes, but would have to give up 3 1st round picks to the Pack if they trade him away. Not worth it imo.

Yes, the Jets would get a lot from the Vikings but the problem is how much longer is Favre going to be in the league? Not worth giving up the picks to get him when you can get some fresh blood to better your team in the future.

@Clipse, Brett going to the Bears would be a good move. They are in need of a QB big time.

They're in need of a QB period. :p

I was hoping that be'd have traded to the Bears (Illinois sports teams FTW ;)) But that didnt happen. But I am glad that he is out of the North division though, he always killed us.

And we definetly need a good QB, I cant believe that they did not draft one. As far as i can remember, our last good QB was Jim McMahon, so thats been like 20 some years since we've had a good QB. (Im going to stp here since i am getting a little off topic.)

The Jets most likely aren't going to move Favre, it'll be Pennington out the door. A lot of people think they'll be bad but I could see them winning 10 games. Alan Faneca was a huge pick up for them.

I am not sure that I can see them winning 10 games with Favre there. Last I remember, they really don't have too good of a defense or that great of receivers. I think Favre will help them but not too much.

And I agree that Pennington will be moved too.

With Farve in a Jets uniform, I can see them winning around 10 games.

I could see them getting 5 wins with in their division. They will beat the Bills & Dolphins twice along with Patriots in Week 2 at Home. They also play Tennessee & Cincinnati from the AFC. I could see them beating either one of them for another win, that puts them at 6. They also play every team from the AFC West. They are probally gonna beat Raiders while splitting the other two games against Chiefs & Broncos. I see them beating 1 of them but not both. There is no way that they are going to beat San Diego at San Diego on a Monday Night. With 2 wins from this division, puts them at 8. They play every team from the NFC West. They are better then the Rams & 49ers. The game against the Cardinals I could see going either way. But, I don't think they will beat the Seahawks. So, if they beat the Rams & 49ers & lose to the Cardinals & Seahawks, they would have 2 wins from this division. That gives them 10. Just think if they won't split the 2 games with the Chiefs & Broncos plus beat the Cardinals that would give them 2 more wins with a total of 12. I think that would be enough to win the division from the Patriots.

So, 10 wins could happen for them.

Damn, you either know you'r football or your just typing shit because it's your duty to do it as a mod :p lol.

This is a pretty sad story IMO. I'm not really talking about the trade and all but more about the Farve thing in general. Last season, he was loved by everybody in Green Bay, and in the past few weeks, everyone has started drinking haterade. he's probably one of the best quarterbacks of all time and dosen't deserve all of this shit that he's gotten.

On to the trade, I think that the Jets will go 8-8. I don't think that Farve will have enough time to adjust to the new offense that the Jets run. I think the Jets will start off slow, around 3-5 or so, then get gradually better as the season goes on and Farve learns the offense better.

My two cents.

Anyone else watch his press conference on Sportscenter?

The entire time, it looked like he was going to bust out in tears. He said he was a Packer and he will always be a Packer. Which leads me to believe that he didn't want to be traded or is he happy to be traded. But as he said, GB has moved on and so must he.

Although, I am curious to see how the Jets respond to him saying he will always be a Packer.

He deserves every bit of it. He was retired and decided to change his mind at the last second. Too bad for him. He is really making himself look like a huge whiny crybaby. What he is doing is not fair to the Packers because they need to be able to move forward and he just jumps back in and says I wanna play now. He's had many great years and he hung it up at the right time and should have stayed retired. Some people just don't know when to quit and ruin their reputations. My $.02

If I got traded from any team to the Jets I'd be sad/mad too.

So this post isn't completely spamtastic.

Update: EA has confirmed they will release a day-one update that places Favre on the Jets (and reflecting any other relevant roster changes), reports MTV Multiplayer. EA has also announced they will offer a downloadable cover in the coming days on easports.com featuring Favre in a Jets uniform. Fans can print out the Jets cover and insert it into their copy of Madden NFL 09.
