The real shaft job was that Rockstar's website took FOREVER to update after the first couple days and it was literally like 3 weeks after I finished the game that it finally showed on the Social Club site (and I know I wasn't the only one) and by then I didn't even bother doing whatever is necessary to get the key. It does look pretty sweet though.

How do you find shooting pigions, playing pool with Jacob and finding gay ass jumps fun? The games i completed ex. GoW, SR, CoD4 etc. I play everyday. The games i enjoy the most and that i don't play for achievement points.. I played the game naturally and got them. I don't waste a whole day doing something shitty and that feels like a fucking chore to do for 100G's. Wow a whole 100G's for doing a chore.. You mind as well go pay 15 bucks a month and play WoW then. :rolleyes: Did i get Seriously? Yes i did. Gee Razor that sure seems like a good 3 months waste of time, bigger waste of time then 100%. The answer is no because i enjoyed the game and didn't make me feel like i had to play it JUST for a little key. I did it because like i said i enjoy the game and i played it everyday so it eventually got up to 10,000 kills. If you enjoy finding pigions and going bowling with Roman for a good chunk of time well i guess thats you but Christ it's a chore, why would you want to do that?

Don't come in this thread and start talking about playing games naturally and not going for gamerscore, thats pure bullshit particularly when you purposely went into Call of Duty 4 to get the Mile High Club achievement. You want to talk about a chore? Thats one. I know to some its not hard at all, but I'd say luck would have to be a little on your side to get it. While on the topic of Call of Duty 4 I'd have to argue that the majority of people who aren't after gamerscore in a game wouldn't be playing it on veteran difficulty. I realize there are those who play any game on the hardest level of difficulty they can, but the vast majority I'd argue don't.

If you remember there were achievements which required you to meet random characters in the game, have all friends like you at 90% or above, and complete the game 100%. Yeah all that can be a chore, but if someone wants to put the time into getting all those points thats what they'll have to do. Would playing Rumble Roses, a game that takes something like 250 hours of gametime be pointless to 1K? The way you talk it would be, while others would admire someone with that kind of dedication as its one hell of a feat.

Good job so far Flea.. I'll be using this tomorrow when i am playing the game for the collectables only though.. I am not boosting at all for this game.. I don't wanna ruin it and i wanna get all my achievements legit and earned :)

I think you guys are missing razor's point. He's coming across like a dick but you have to look past that. I think it's impressive if anyone gets 100% in gta but some of the achievements are like a chore mainly the pigeons. The mile high club, that's hard but it's not tedious like these achievements, and it also requires skill while this requires patience and dedication.

Hats off to merobb but doing that is not for everyone hence, razor's opinion, please let him have one.

I really LOVE that rockstar did that more developers should do that, especially if they have a tough game.

Just about any time consuming achievement can be labeled and defended as a chore. Like i was explaining to Razor "Why don't I have the seriously achievement?" Because I didn't want to take the time playing what I believe to be a shitty one and done multiplayer while also having to wait 20 minutes before a match even starts. Seriously is like the pigeon achievement in GTA, it doesn't take a great deal of skill it just takes time and it was time I didn't want to waste playing a game I didn't enjoy. It's just personal preference in games and what you're willing to do.

If someone played gears and didn't like it just for the seriously achievement then they have something wrong with them. Now for the pigeons does anyone seriously (no pun intended) enjoy walking around finding hidden pigeons? But you are right that it just requires time but it's also not like a chore for those people. Saying any achievement is a chore if you hate the game is irrelevant and obvious. Very few people are really going to have a good time collecting pigeons... it's straight up work for an achievement but that doesn't make doing so any less prestigious.

What it comes down to is the gamers determination, their grit, their unyielding want to accomplish something others might not take the time to do. It doesn't matter if its collecting pigeon kills in GTA, getting 10,000 kills in Gears, or spending the 250+ hours collecting all the stupid alternative outfits in Rumble Roses. It doesn't matter what others think, it doesn't matter what I think or what you think. Its all about what the gamer wants to do. If they want to hunt pigeons to complete a game 100% and receive the key to the city from Rockstar who the fuck is to judge them that they wasted their time?

As I said he's right some of the achievements in GTA are chores. But lets change things around, lets say Gears of War 3 is coming out and the first 500 people who beats the game with 1,000 GS get a special fullsize Lancer replica gun. There will be some people who will go crazy without food or sleep to get that prize, while others won't care about it and say "so what?". So in our hypothetical Razor is one of the lucky 500 who completes the game, gets the Lancer replica sent to him. How should he feel when someone comes in to the thread he creates posting pictures of his prize and goes "You did all that for just a piece of fucking plastic? That wasn't even worth the time spent."

That person might think that being one of the first 500 people to 1K Gears 3 isn't a big deal but who are they to piss on Razor's parade? Well lets switch it back to this thread and reread things, this time its Razor who's pissing on Merobb's parade. This wasn't an argument about achievements being chores, just about all achievements are chores (excludes press X to transform in Transformers among others). This was about dedication to a game and achieving a goal others didn't have the grit to go through. Do you understand what I'm saying now?
