Hey thanks man - I really enjoy graphic design and all that - i usually make sigs in my spare time (which is rare these days) il probably look up the sig request thread when i have time to make some more :)

Well JJ, it's pretty damn good. One thing though.

Your A/Creed sig, the corners you can see some grey B/G which hasnt been erased and you can also see some flat edges, which I assume you intended that not to be visable in that design.

The design is great, i'm just a bit of a perfectionist as you probably know.

Keep it up.

lol yeh thanks Tom i did notice that but it was made back in the x360a days when forum backgrounds where light ;) im not gonna change it as im not using it anymore but MAN is it great to hear from ya again I mean, how are ya? we havent spoke in ages (since just after the x360a incident) but great to see you here

Ive just had no time to make anything recently due to GCSE's and Coursework, - I should have finished a majority of it by tonight - then im making my TWoSM entry, also can't wait till Christmas when I will be getting a 24" iMac and shortly after that, a graphics tablet.

I think you have to use a gradient tool. Just drag it in a line from top to bottom on your layer i think. Play around with it I know you can figure it out. ;)

Heya JJ.

How do you do reflections? I've a vague idea...at best. Something to do with a copy of the layer(s) distorted (for the angle) and something to do with the opacity...but how do you get it to fade out completely? I = teh confused. :(

65px soft brush eraser FTW

I lowered the opacity to like, I dunno, 25%? and erased the bottom with the 65px soft.

I was bored and tired... seemed good at the time, and I think it looks better with the way my sig is as it wouldn't really fit on the left.

well after seeing Azerons new sig, I jumped on the bandwagon and made my own using one of flash's images (hope he doesn't mind :p )
please be harsh , all C+C is appreciated, im not to sure of my text placement or font, I can hardly ever find something I like.

Haha, I'm glad to be an inspiration. The spatter brushing in the sky is a bit random, but I really like what you did with the lighting. Font is good too, but what's the deal with that dark stroke behind it?

well in answer to some of your questions,
-The dark to light happened because I didnt like the sky
-The random brushes in the sky was to try and secure the font and make it look better (guess that failed :p)
-the random dark stroke behind the font was originally metal plating but I thought I completely hid it :p il need to fix that
-And to bluring, I couldnt really find something that I liked so I left it out to show you guys

One thing you could try with the brushing is to turn down the strength on the brush, then experiment with some of the blending modes so it doesn't stand out as much from the sky, and brush a bit more horizontally as well.

I do love the colors though, I look at this sig a couple minutes every time I open this thread.

yeh I was thinking about lower the opacity of the brushes, however I wasn't too sure if the font was right and was trying to distract people from it :p and brush more horizontally? I don't understand what you mean by that

Try brushing more in the green direction than in the red one. Ideally your brushing would follow the perspective of the sky. On the top of the image the sky is viewed at a closer angle than at the bottom, so I think it would be nice if the brushing followed that.

I think it's quite the opposite of what Azeron has mentioned.

I think the needs to be more brushing in the bottom right quadrant of the image. So far the image is making me feel an explosion has gone off nearby and dirt is has splattered over the screen giving me a First Person feel.

I think the image would also look 20x better without the text: "Welcome to the new world". Just giving the image a true First Person feel. (Keeping the JJUK Bitamp text, of course)

That's an interesting way of looking at it. The image has a lot of depth though, so if you want it to look like dirt on the screen I'd add an overlay or a glare to make it appear more like there's a foreground surface.

I think it looks pretty good, the only thing I see wrong is the backround behind the text, it just looks like it was made with one brush stroke, maybe take it off altogether or just make the opacity higher

well it probably looks that way because it was :p
that was supposed to be removed but i forgot - I have the PSD but i'm not too bothered as it was a a spur of the moment thing.

I agree, JJ has style. For this most recent avatar, I think it would be just a bit better if more of the rich background color showed through. Just my opinion. Too me it feels washed out. Perhaps that is what you intended. But what do I know, I'm just a n00b. Anyway, I like this new piece a lot. I really do. Keep up the good work.
