Or just one or the other... I used to play my 360 exclusively on my monitor (VGA FTW!) and now I use my TV as my monitor when I feel like it... he doesn't need both ;)

I got a 19 inch LCD HDTV..

Now all I have to do to get HD on my 360 is put the thing hooked into my xbox on HD right? Anything else I need to do?

Nope, just hook up they right cables and flip that lil switch. Also you might have to change the setting on the dash board menu from standard to either 720p or 1080p, which ever you have.

component = HD... your standard 360 cables have old school RCA hookups and component cables... so yeah, the second set that you don't use if you don't have HD = the HD cables ;)

So just put in the red, blue, and green cable and put the switch on hd and it will work? Do I need to put in the red, yellow, and white cables also?

I'm trying to figure that out also because my TV won't pick it up with the HD plugs in either. I'm hella confused.

Red and white are your audio, you should have plugs for those ;)

After you've plugged them in you flip the switch, and then after you load up your dashboard go to console settings, display settings, and see how high you can set your resolution (p = greater than i)

If you're not getting anything through your HD cables then you need to flip the switch at the base of the cables where they attach to your xbox over to HD.
