Welcome to our Game of the Year contest! Here's how it's going to work:

Pick which game you think will win Xbox 360 GotY on IGN. When the GotY is announced, everyone who picked that specific game will receive 10 Hero Points. Also, one person will be randomly selected out of all the winners to win the Grand Prize: a rare Gears of War faceplate, with Fenix in a faceoff with Raam. lol, I love seeing the "I voted for this game, but not because I think it's the best, because I think it will win" threads... lol! I guess that's the nature of the game, but I've gotta give my vote to Rock Band, nothing else has delivered from any game this year has been anywhere near as revolutionary as Rock Band. RB is a leap forward for the genre on almost every front... I haven't seen any other game deliver on its potential to that extent.

If I were to vote for what I believe will win I'd go Bioshock...

Does anyone else feel that it's BS that two high profile shooters this year left off either single player or multiplayer... Shadowrun and Bioshock respectively... and the one that left off Single player gets shat on while the one that left off multiplayer gets praised when the chief complaint about both was the lack of their missing gameplay modes?

And, Bioshock also won game of the year from Game informer...This just reaffirms my decision. Bioshock's originallity and just "out of nowhere" emergence makes it the obvious favored candidate.
Again, I would have voted Halo 3, but I just know IGN woudn't go for it.

It's single player just had alot of different things that no other game has. Not just your average shooter of the the big huge enemy boss and save the world.

Had they played it by the numbers Bioshock would have won, but some how IGN's math figures a game that got a score of 9.4 is higher and better than one that received a 9.7. :confused:

CoD 4 deserved it. A great single-player and awesome multi-player. The multi-player will keep me hooked until the next big game comes out (SC:Conviction :D). Definitely a worthy winner.

Wow. I got the shaft on that one. Every other game site and magazine voted Bisoshock, and IGN gives it to COD 4...:confused: Congrats to the winners, but that is pretty dumb.

If Bioshock had ANY multiplayer at all, and it could have been as bad as Prey's, it would have won, and if it didn't it would have been an atrocity.

A bad multiplayer doesn't make a game better, just because of the existence of a multiplayer. And I personally had way more fun with CoD4's campaign than I did with Bioshock. CoD4 deserved GotY, because it had the best of both worlds.

Call of Duty 4 did have a very fun experience for both worlds, I certainly think so as well, but I mean though it was "Modern Warfare", it still was COD 4. I mean 2k came out of nowhere with Bioshock, easily the most original game of 2007 for 360.

Also, if Bisoshock came out a little later, or if Halo 3 came out a little later, closer to the launch of COD 4, do you think they would have had a better chance? I do. COD 4 is fresh in everyone's mind, Bioshock isn't as much so...but whatever. It won, sp congrats to those who voted COD 4.

Originality doesnt warrent a GoTY, dont get me wrong bioshock is definatly an awesome game. Their was just no "damn i need to play that again" and since there was no muliplayer there was nothing keeping it in everyones console or on everyones minds.

CoD4 wasnt original exactly but how many other shooters are based in the right now time line. It relates to shit going on not to mention it was action packed and the multiplayer is teh rape'age.

It sucks that Assassins creed wasnt as badass as everyone thought it was going to be because that game had the potential to wipe the floor with every game imo. Mass effect was also badass but i think it falls into the same catagory as BS, its extremely fun to play and has great graphics and a great story. But there isnt much replay value in the game and i feel that it drops it in the minds of everyone as far as goty goes. Sadly it seems that a good games now adays are only ones that you can play with others online, at least that is what they are telling us.

How i personally feel about this year in gaming, It was amazing. It started out dull as hell but it did a complete 180 and the 3rd and 4th quarters were crazy as hell. There was a tone of great games, but im left with this urge, this huge urge to play a medieval type openworld rpg. No game this year has given me what i wanted and im rather disapointed. I have all these games on my shelf and need to play, achievement points out the ass to get and yet i dont want to. This sucks

Anyways kinda off topic but i thought id just throw in were im at right now......
