Everyone seemed too excited about about the Hatton v Mayweather fight and forgot about this! Not much of a fight, though.

Amir Khan celebrated his 21st birthday by demolishing Graham Earl in 72 seconds to retain his Commonwealth lightweight title in Bolton.

Khan floored Earl with a sweeping left inside the first minute and again after unleashing a barrage of blows when the challenger got to his feet.

The referee stepped in with just one minute 12 seconds on the clock.

Earl is getting on and the ammount of punches he can take these days are obviously now in question. Was a good fight though, shame it didnt last as long as the second round....

I watched earls last fight in febuary against some austrailian guy, it was like something out of a rocky film. Earl went down twice then got back up and floored the other guy. Then earls corner threw the towel in!!.

Amir Kahn looked really good during the earl fight and he was a much deserved winner.

Earl was complaining after the fight saying it shouldnt have been stopped. Now im sorry if anyone disagrees but he did not have a clue where he was when amir started the second attack before the fight got stopped. Earl is too brave and i genuinly think that if the fight had been allowed to go on he would have got hurt badly as kahn was just too much for him

Time to retire earl ;)

Amir was going mental on him. Ealr took some big hits. I'm not expert on boxing, but that could cause some serious damage to Earl if he continued.
