A Senegalese woman set herself on fire in front of Rome's City Hall Saturday in what appeared to be a protest of Senegal President Abdoulaye Wade's visit to Italy, Reuters reported Saturday.

Wow thats horrible why would she want to inflict that much pain on herself. I mean she could have killed herself doing that.

Ummm... what the hell was that? And the scariest thing wasn't that she lit herself on fire, it's that at first people just watched.

why did they save her surley she done it to either inflict pain on them or because for some reason she wanted to die to pass a message across

This is faily common in southern asia, especially among buddhist protestors. Hadn't heard of it happening in Africa yet though.

lol pwneeeeeeeedddddddddddd. Geography is fun.

This is sad what people come to when they want to get a point across. What does it mean when someone feels the only way they can be heard is by setting themselves on fire or flying airplanes into buildings?!? And she was saved because as a civil cuty, they have to try and save her. And honestly...if you were there and someone just walked up to you and lit yourself on fire, wouldn't you try and help them?!?
