I really liked their older stuff. The new crap kind of turned me off to them. Their guitarist has some skill. He does some neat stuff. Nothing to technical but it is neat some of it.

Agreed... their songs just always feel too similary IMO... the first time I heard them i was like, that's not too bad... and then 5 songs later I was reaching for something with variety :(

They're not light rock they were pretty heavy they are heavy now but not as heavy as before and not nearly heavy as some other bands but still in my opinion pretty good

I consider those to be pretty light...except for Arch Enemy..it's getting closer to heavy. Her vocals are just crap.

I really like System of a Down. Their new music isn't as bad as every claims. But every has a different opinion. I really enjoy 'Steal this Album!' and 'System of a Down'. Those would be my favorite albums of theirs.

Seen em' twice. Ozzfest and Mezmerize Tour.

I was standing in line in Chicago to get tickets for their Metro show. The Metro is very small, and I didn't end up getting tickets. It was horrible. :(

Anti-War. But agreed, they are not heavy. They slip into Prog Rock (in my book). The Mid Eastern feel of the music both with the sitar and the rythm it just great for chillin out to.

Yeah i have to say they are my favorite band, their older stuff that was released before the first album was the best. Im sick of people saying wrong things about them, they're not political as much as everybody thinks.

I like them. Hypnotize is something I enjoy listening to at all times. I like them okay, but personally I don't care for anything other than their Hypnotize and Mezmerize albums. Myeh. They are good for a listen at least.

I really like System of a Down. I actually like the later albums when Daron Malakian shares in the singing. Serj Tankian CD that came out not too long ago just sucks ass.

Their first album is pretty good.

Toxicity was good for the time it was out, when Alt Rock and the like was near it's peak. But Hypnotize/Mezmerize just sounded like noise to me...

You definitely have to sift through the garbage to find decent songs by them.
