Police in AU have approached Google Earth to provide pictures of a crime scene in an attempt to solve the murder of a Jane Doe. News.com.au (http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,22916799-2,00.html?from=public_rss) is reporting that investigators were informed that Google Earth made a pass over the Victoria area sometime in the last week. The hope is that satellite images might prove some use is finding clues as to the culprit and the woman's identity.

Google uses planes to provide higher resolution/cheaper images for many of the more popular areas. Civilian satelites are rarely able to distinguish objects smaller then two meters.
