Circuit City (Beautiful Katamari)

I was at a Circuit City and in thier discount bin were Beautiful Katamari for $16.96
they only had 2 so I bought both,one for me one for my brother.
I don't know if this is a sale or a mistake.It seems the game just came out.
but the lady was double checking at the counter and she did not say if there was a problem.

Hmm, Beautiful Katamari is a new one on me but Circuit City has a bunch of 360 (and for that matter, PS2, PS3 & Xbox games) on clearance, most of the 360 games being $16.96

Yeah I had LOTR in my hands yesterday and then I got all giddy when I found a non-SE, non-PH copy of Viva Pinata so I bought that instead. I think I'll go back for it because LOTR was pretty damn fun, and I can check on Beautiful Katamari at the same time.

BTW to make this an even better deal, Circuit City has a sale going on (ends today, 12.22 I believe) where any games $19.99 and under are 2 for $30 so you could save an additional $2 on each of these games. And for you guys wondering about Pimp My Ride, it was marked down yesterday to $15.

I can report that my CC didn't have Beautiful for 16.96, instead for 39.99. I did find Call of Juarez though!

I went to CC and Katamari was definitely full price....and I could find a single game under 20 except for Sonic.

Yeah, same with me Code. I didn't see any of these special deals they were supposed to have. Either they were completely sold out of everything, or there never were any deals at my particular CC. Also, the bargain bins didn't have any 360 titles, only regular Xbox.

A lot of the games I listed wouldn't be in the bargain bin and almost assuredly would have a higher price marked on the sticker. Hell, when I picked up Monster Madness the sticker said $59.99. Anyway with the holidays and all it's no wonder the stores have been cleared out. But the clearance is definitely real.

Yeah I probably should have clarified. Sales associates almost NEVER know about the damn clearances because games are added and removed all the time and it's usually just to clear out stock of games that otherwise were no longer selling. About a year or so ago I went in a day after they had added a shitload of games to the clearance and I asked a sales associate to check the price before I took them to the front. When multiple games listed as $59.99 or $49.99 on the sticker were ringing up $16.96, $8.96 or even $4.96 (latter two were Xbox & PS2 games) he called his fucking district manager before letting me buy the stuff. Idiot thought I hacked the system or something I guess.

At the same time though, Circuit City clearances are always nationwide (although not all stores always have every game) so my guess regarding Beautiful Katamari is either A) peters8570 is lying or B) for whatever reason, his store marked it down in their system early. Neither would surprise me but as neither of my CCs have the game period, unless I can grab it off CC.com or trade someone here or on CAG, I'm SOL.

Beautiful Katamari wasn't $17 at mine. It was $40. They were sold out of CoJ and MM too.

At least I finished my Christmas shopping there yesterday.

i got timeshift for 10 pounds a day after it came out becuase they had marked it wrong lol ( thats like 15 dollars i think)

Just FYI, a couple of those Circuit City games have droped to $8.96. I know Bullet Witch is one of them and I just picked up Project Sylpheed which is another.
