A CHRISTMAS postcard has been delivered in Kansas, 93 years after it was mailed from neighbouring Nebraska.
The postcard featured a coloured sketch of Santa Claus and a young girl, according to news reports.
It was dated December 23, 1914, and mailed to Ethel Martin of Oberlin, Kansas, from her cousins in Alma, Nebraska.
The reports said the postcard had been discovered in Illinois and speculated it had slid behind a cupboard. Oberlin Post Office delivered it to Bernice Martin, the late Ethel Martin's sister-in-law.
It's a mystery where it spent most of the last century, Oberlin postmaster Steve Schultz said. "It's surprising that it never got thrown away. How someone found it, I don't know."

Wouldn't that have been funny if it was an actual card with a dollar in it? Then I wonder if you have some sort of case to sue the post office for inflation. :p

If your post is anything like ours someone would have opened it and took the dollar our,
infact thats probably what happened they opened it took the money and and tossed it behind some cupboard.

According to WikiAnswer (http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_is_the_value_of_a_1914_dollar_bill)s the bill would be valued between $60 and $90 depending on wear and if it shows "National Currency" on its front. Now thats just if the bill was actually made in 1914 and since the card was supposedly delivered in perfect condition I wouldn't think there would show too much wear. ;)
