Dec. 27 (Bloomberg) -- Jeffrey Bewkes, who takes over as chief executive officer of Time Warner Inc. next week, may be measured by how quickly he can dismantle the world's largest media company.

Bewkes may spin off the cable-television division and sell the AOL Web and Time Inc. magazine units, said Gamco Investors Inc. fund manager Chris Marangi and National City Bank analyst Daniel Poole. The remaining company, anchored by the film studio and cable-TV networks, would resemble Viacom Inc. -- and accordingly command higher multiples, Marangi said.

They definitely need to do something to make their service better.

Agreed. Make the service better and lower or freeze the prices for a while. In our area, it's cheaper now to run DirecTV and Time Warner's Cable Internet than it is to get their (TWC) standard cable package bundled with cable internet. LOSERS!!!

And their internet is horrible.

Their upload speeds are god-awful. Otherwise though I'm pretty satisfied although it's overpriced as fuck like most broadband internet. I want some "10Mbps up/10Mbps down for $39.99" shit like they get in the tri-state area or out in Cali.
