In Spokane, Washington, a 20-year-old man was arrested on felony stalking charges after chatting to a 15-year-old girl on Xbox Live and eventually threatening to rape the girl and her sister.

Joshua Stetar of Saratoga Springs, New York met the 15-year-old girl through chatting and playing Halo online since last year. He reportedly sent packages and flowers to her home, all of which her parents returned. He also began text messaging her several hundred times on her cell phone, forcing the girl’s mother to change her daughter’s number. However, Stetar was able to get her new number, and the he continued to text message the girl.

At around 9:00pm Friday, Stetar sent a text message saying that he was driving by her house at the moment. The girl’s parents in fact saw his car drive by.

At 9:36pm, Stetar sent another text message stating, “Tell the cops that I’m gonna rape you and your sister.”

The girl’s father called police, and officers found the suspect staying at a nearby Econo Lodge motel.

During a police interview, the suspect admitted that he was able to obtain the girl’s address and phone number by “Googling” her name. He also admitted to driving 40 hours straight to get from New York to Spokane.

Stetar was booked into Spokane County Jail on one felony count of stalking. He was released on bond Saturday.

Dickless pricks like this need to be shot on sight. I don't voice my opinion in a violent manner all to often or at least mean it when I do but I have strong hatred for threats or acts of violence towards the ladies. Had I been her dad I'd have shot the punk, then had I been the cop to arrive on the scene I wouldn't arrest the dad for shooting his bitch ass. I hope the judge throws the book at him and he gets the max sentence. Let him know what its like to be raped then see if he makes any threats about doing it again.

What an idiot. That guy needs help who the hell would want to rape a 15 year old girls hes probably never seen and rape anyone for the fact of the matter. The guys also stupid for telling her what he was going to do thats like killing millions of people and walking into the police department telling them you did it.

I hate this stuff... Just had a new case from this weekend where a Marine got arrested for going out to meet a myspace girl who was 13... the Marine got caught with the child in a hotel, they were running away to get married... I've got to deal with this circus this week :( I just want to beat some sense into these types of people, children should be treated as such, not chased and manipulated into sexual situations... they're just kids.

Close call. Would be a said day for xboxlive to be envolved in a rape. We cannot prepare for these kind of things or people and locking this guy up is a achievement.

Clipse, I share many of the same opinions, so all I can do is quote you and say that I agree.

eh, you can't really say you didn't see it coming though from the parents. they should have stepped in way sooner. if my 15 year old daughter came to me and said he some guy i met playing halo is sending me txt and packages, i didn't tell him to they should have immediately talked to the man or if there was no reasoning contacted the police. waiting until the guy became so out there as to be shacked up down the road and drive by there house was a little late. all the more reasons why children need to be monitored while accessing any sort of shared experience online rather it's gaming, myspace, messenger. you never know who's out there or what they're planning.

Just shows how secure LIVE is.

I bet if they phoned the support like they'd probably just say to mute him...

I agree with what Clipse said though.
