In Monroe County, Pennsylvania, police say that it was an argument over an Xbox 360 console that led to a son asking his father to shoot him, and he complied.
The 17-year-old boy reportedly wanted his father, James Stanley Niedosik, 60, to look at his Xbox 360 Friday night.
However, when the father didn’t want to, an argument ensued. During the dispute, the boy handed his father a rifle and told him to shoot him, and he did.
The boy suffered from a .22 caliber bullet lodged in his skull behind his ear and was treated at Lehigh Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest.
Niedosik was arrested and sent to Monroe County Prison on $250,000 bail. He is now charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, reckless endangerment, and endangering the welfare of a child.
“One’s in jail, one’s in the hospital,” Jeanie Niedosik, James’ ex-wife and the boy’s mother told The Morning Call. “I won’t know exactly what happened until I talk to [my son]. He’s incoherent yet; they have him heavily sedated.”
While she was not present at the shooting, she believes the incident was an accident.
“He did the shooting, but it was an accidental thing that took place,” she said.

I do not believe someone did this. Shot him in the head over a argument about a 360, just plain wrong.

Why am I getting the feeling that there is more to this story that has not been told? It almost feels like whoever wrote the article threw in the mention of a xbox 360 to justify the repeating of otherwise seemingly ridiculous tragedy. Why did the kid want his dad to look at his 360? I am not understanding...

Ummmmmm. I'm sure it happened because the safety was not on but why the hell would you point a gun at your childs head? Those people from Pennsylvania are crazy :)

Okay, can we all just stop saying that people from a certain place are crazy just because of an odd news article? I mean some of it is nin jest, some of it is not, and I am getting really sick and tired of it to be quite honest.
Anyways, it's reported as an accident, in the end, IDK. We probably have about 60% of the story, if even that, so let's not jump to conclusions. In the end, I hope the kid is alright, and I hope that the whole incident WAS an accident. The relationship between a father and a son should be special...and I don't think any father in the *right* mind would shoot their son in the head intentionally.

Hey now. I am from Pennsylvania and I can assure you that I am not that crazy nor do I know anyone who is the crazy. But that is pretty crazy.
I mean why do that?

How can she say it was an accidental thing that took place when firstly she wasnt there and secondly the son ask him to do it so it obviously wasnt an accident. And yeh this is fucked up the max, i wudnt want a dad like fo' show, the amount of times ive said stuff like that to my bro in playful banter. We live in a seriously messed up world. Yet another article in which consoles can get bashed YAY (NOT)

What kind of a Dad Refuses to LOOK IN A CERTAIN DIRECTION when he's asked to?
I mean would it REALLY have been that tough to turn his head 90 degrees or what not.
And why would the kid even care enough to ask his father to SHOOT him just because he didnt want to look at the xbox.
This whole story sounds fishy to me i think there is some sort of foul play involved

Or his dad could of been like "I don't wanna look at your 360, look at my PS3 or I'll shoot you!!!!"
Maybe thats the part of the story we are missing...?
Lmao jk, but seriously tho, my dad has picked me up by my neck against the wall and choked me, but yeah. I thought I had it rough..guess not =[

Why didn't he just look?
I think it's right for the dad to be locked up, regardless of the story about asking him to shoot him if it's even true, he shot his own son in the head and could of easily died...

Wow talk about suicidal. And plus why would the dad do it anyway, Over a god damn 360. Thats pretty bad if you ask me. You have some problems if that happens.

What bitches. That's the most retarded thing I've ever heard someone doing over that. It was probably a plot so that the kid could kill "himself" but his dad be blamed. OR they were both high, one of the two.

I think by "look", he means to look inside, or fix his 360 because something's wrong with it.So to make it simple, look=fix/try to fix.Hope that makes sense:).

Old topic, but I should leave my two cents.
Ontopic: This is probally the stupidest thing ever. Ive heard of meesed shit, but this is just plain stupid. That dad should have the death penalty.
Off Topic: He wanted him to look, as he just pwned Rocket in Halo 3.

And let's just say it's also safe to separate the kid as far away from the dad as possible ;)
