From 9am tomorrow, a demo for The Club will be available to download across Europe and Australia on the Xbox Live.
Developed by Bizarre Creations, The Club mixes score based challenges with bloody violence.
In the demo, you'll play Renwick, a detective stuck in a disused, crumbling penitentiary. Renwick is forced to fight in a shadowy underground blood-sport run by a secret group of sick millionaires.
We're not exactly clear on how you specifically fight them, apart from the game itself is a quirky third person shooter that our friends on OXM called, "Space Invaders for the Quentin Tarantino generation".
Our present opinion of Quentin Tarantino and his recent films aside, The Club sounds bonkers enough to be worth checking out.

It kind of reminds me of that game....Total Overdose. I think that's what it was called. It could go either way. I'm hoping it turns out well though. I want a good over the top shooter.

I'm going to update this tread; I don't know what the deal is but I completely missed any news that this was available in the US, but it is on LIVE right now. I have to say I wasn't so sure about this game but I just played it a while ago and I'm stunned. The graphics look great, controller are there but need a little tuning, and the gameplay is a blast. Granted there's only one character, one level, and two gametypes to choose from it was still pretty damn fun to run around and just annihilate everything that moved and some things that didn't.
Get on LIVE, hit the demos and download it. Then come back and let us know what you think.

I played the Euro version of the demo about a week ago. I've been singing it's praises ever since.

To me it looks like a good fun rental. Nothing I would buy but definitely would rent. It's pretty fun however from what I've seen I'd be able to go through everything that I'd want too in a couple of days. However much better than a :censored: game that I played sort of like this *cough* Kane and Lynch *cough*

Hey K & L's a good game but the online is next to dead so I think I'm going to trade it in tomarrow for Burnout?

*shudder*
I know you did not just say that.
Graphics = bad
Cover = borked
Firing a weapon = horribly inaccurate to the point where you might as well aim 3 feet away from the guy your trying to kill and you'll have more of a chance of hitting him
Weapons = Very limited and very basic
AI = really really retarded to the point where you become a one man army
Overall all they seemed to do is take the hitman fighting system, throw it into a game and add some cover maneuvers and some ally AI and said have fun.
The only thing I liked in that game was the story and the creativity of the multiplayer. And even that got owned because of the gameplay issues.
Anyway to your other question I've been hearing burnout is a great game even if you don't like racing games so I'd check it out.
