So who do you guys think is going to pull out the victory tonight? LSU or Ohio

Well I hate both teams and to be frank, LSU doesn't deserve to be there...leave it to the BCS to put a 2-loss team in the National Title game. IF I had to choose I would say Ohio State just because I want to see the Championship come back to the Big 10.

I don't really care who wins. I hope Ohio State does because LSU doesn't deserve to be there.
Maybe we will get a playoff some day...

Even though Georgia distroyed Hawaii last week, I think that Hawaii should be playing in this game. It's not fair to Hawaii that they were left out. People said that they didn't play a good enough schedule, but at the end of last season, they contacted every big conference seeking to play some big schools, but nobody wanted to play against them.
I think that if they would have gotten to play a few bigs schools that they probally would have lost a game or two, but schools didn't want to take a chance due to the amount of points that they are always putting up. Yeah they would have won, but the margin of victory would have been small.
But, they aren't there, so I think LSU will win. Even though they have 2 losses, they were both in overtime. The 3rd overtime each time. I hate Ohio State, but I don't think they have enough speed to contain all of the weapons that LSU has. Besides the best player in the country is playing on LSU's defensive line. Big old Dorsey.
I think he will be the #1 draft pick for my Miami Dolphins. He is a Parcells type player.

Tripl, you said it right. Hawaii deserves to be there because they WANTED to play big name schools and prove they deserve to be there. And Ohio States coach has it in his contract that he has the final say in who they play and he won't go away to play any big name teams. Complete garbage.

I will be totally surprised if OSU holds on with how crazy this college football season was. Anything could happen. LSU does have the weapons to come back. Remember they were also down 10 to florida when they played them and came back to win.

Tressel has it in his contract that he won't play any major conference teams away. It's a hidden clause in his contract. They were talking about it on Sportscenter last week when they were dissecting the BCS standings.

I don't know what you guys are talking about how LSU dosen't deserve to be there!? They one the SEC, the toughest conference in the nation and OSU played a lack schedule this year. LSU are way to fast for the Buckeyes

Chilidog, I think what everybody is stating that a team with 2 losses is playing for the championship when there was a team that had 0 losses and got shafted just like Boise State did last year. That is 2 years in a row a team for the Mountain West Conference went undeafed and got hosed in the BCS.
I do believe that if they won't have lost to arkansas at the end of the season, then nobody would be questioning them playing tonight.

No way does a 2 loss team deserve to be there. Teams keep getting screwed out a national title due to their conference or strength of their schedule. They need to redo it all and make it better.
By the way go OSU!!!

I still disagree. Hawai'i plays in the WAC BTW. But the Big 10 was rated as one of the easiest confrences in the nation and the SEC was number 1. Both games that LSU lost went into triple ot. Hawai'i got wacked by Georgia and they didn't even win the SEC, imagine what OSU would do to them.
Tripl299
01-08-2008, 03:34 AM
Thanks for correcting what conference they are in.
I would be fine if Hawaii was atleast playing in the game, even if they were getting killed. It is fair to them if nobody wants to play them. They even offered to come to play schools at their places and they got no offers. Again, i believe if they would have played a big school they would have lost a game, so we won't be having this discussion now.

Again Tripl with a spot-on post. How do you tell a team that went undefeated that a team with 2 losses is better than them? Hawai'i offered to take care of travel expenses for anyone coming in from a major conference, but no one wanted to play the high powered offense. Granted OSU would kill them, but they still deserve to be there.
On subject, That last TD LSU scored making it 31-10 was the worst display of tackling i've ever seen....

I'm not going to lie I hope LSU wins because I don't like Ohio State very much. Just because I'm a UT fan and I just seems to like LSU more than Ohio State. (UT would beat the both :))

Undefeated is undefeated no matter what conference you are in. The 2-loss team may be better but statistically Hawaii had a better record. Give them a shot at least. I know Georgia blew them out of the water but they still deserved at least a chance to prove it. By the way OSU is the number one team in the country and LSU, a 2-loss team, trip OT losses or not, is beating #1. So rankings don't really matter. Hawaii should have played!
Tripl299
01-08-2008, 03:58 AM
Tell that to Boise State of last year. They should have been playing Ohio State in the championship instead of Florida.
But, then again. I'm kinda glad that they didn't because then Ohio State would probally be on their way to a second straight championship. I live in PA and I don't like any team for this state or the Big Ten. My team sucked this year, but they will be back and take control of the Big 12. Go BIG RED!! That is Right CORNHUSKERS
Speaking of the Big 12. They should have had 3 teams in the BCS this year. There was no way that Missouri should have been left out. Georgia didn't even play for the SEC championship. Mizz lost to Oklahoma. Oklahoma had 2 losses, Mizz had 2, and Kansas only had 1, so they did deserve to be there, but missouri should have also.

Kansas was a great team this year. Here comes OSU. scored another TD and just got the ball back. 15 minutes to decide their BCS fate...

But didn't they just go to Texas last year to play the Longhorns? I know it was a two game deal, one home, one away. As for all the other out of conference games OSU seems to just play every other college in Ohio other than Cincinnati.
Sorry to those who are OSU fans, but for some reason I'm not a fan of the "sweater vest" (Tressel) and don't like how it seems they end the season earlier. The Big Ten needs a championship game bad. But I really have no interest in this game, even though I'd definitely choose LSU even if they don't belong there. To be honest I'm not sure of any team that belongs in the title game. Granted Hawaii went undefeated they got their ass handed to them by Georgia and Brennan couldn't stay off his back. But yeah before that ass kicking they should have played in the Championship game, but against who? The only other team that was close to them if you go by record was OSU and to be honest I'm not sure they're that good of a team. To be honest I don't know of any other teams than Mizzu and Kansas who impressed me more because you really didn't expect them; especially KU.

Ya Tressel did the 1 and 1 deal with UT. It's rare they will do that tho.
What kind of upside-down world would we live in if the Championship game was Hawaii v. Kansas!?? I think it would have been a greatly entertaining game nonetheless.

Clipse,
The big ten doesnt have a championship game because it doesn't have 12 teams in the conference. Remember, the ACC just started playing a championship game like 3 years ago after Miami, Virginia Tech, & Boston College came over from the Big East. It is the same reason why the PAC 10 doesn't do it also. I would like all BCS conferences to play a championship game. With the way the season went this year, you never knew who was going to win each week.
I do believe that this season was probally one of the most exciting that I can ever remember.

Sorry for the delayed response I just saw this post. I know the reasoning behind them not having an out right championship but to be honest I believe all conferences should have a championship game; there should never be a "shared conference title". It's almost like OSU can get by playing some of the shittier lower prestige teams to boost itself before the conference games which aren't all that impressive either. How or why they keep putting Ohio State near the top of the rankings is beyond me. Just because they squeak by Michigan (two years ago), doesn't make them the outright better team; if a they had to play in a championship game it could make or break them. Same goes for all other conferences. The more and more college football gets like this the less and less I care to watch it.
