I think Hitman is better. Assassin's Creed gets way too repetitive.

I have only played the Hitman demo, but from what I have heard, Hitman was a really good game. I am not going to vote on this one until I get my hands on a copy of Hitman.

You can't compare the two...Your poll should be Crackdown vs Ac...Hitman albeit similar, is not the counterpart to AC.

personally i liked assassins even though it was kinda lame and repetitive, but it was good....i put hitman in and couldnt even play past the second mission bc i hated it...so i say AC all the way

People need to stop baseing their opionions off of demos! The demo sucked for that game but the game was kick ass!

As much as I want to convince myself that Assassin's Creed was worth the $60 (:censored:), Hitman is better, by far. It's just got more depth to it, while you can't free roam, you can't really in Assassin's Creed, either, unless you just like sightseeing each city. There's no side quests in Assassin's, which is totally stupid, as it doesn't take advantage of the huge map. While it didn't have better graphics, Hitman was just more creative.

Are you kidding me?

Are you kidding me?

Uhhh, no? You absolutely can not consider rescuing citizens, climbing to high points, eavesdropping, etc. as sidequests. Those are bullshit. I am talking about legitimate sidequests like in Grand Theft Auto or Oblivion.

And there were sidequests in Hitman?

At least Assassin's Creed tried to add something to keep the game going.

Well, Hitman isn't the type of game to have sidequests. Assassin's Creed is free-roam but there is nothing to do once you beat the game, making it nothing special. Sure, it had nice visuals, but they were off after the 50 hours you spend doing the same thing over and over. Yeah, Ubisoft added something in to keep the game going, but it makes many people want to blow their brains out with boredom, me being one of them. Hitman is innovative, there is no other game like it. You a professional contract killer, who performs stealth assassinations. And there are various, yet clever, ways to kill your targets. In Assassin's Creed, it was like here's your target, figure out how to get close to the guy, and assassinate him. Boring.

...have you played hitman?

They tell you here's your target get close to the guy and assassinate him. Sure there's different ways to kill him but the overall gist of the thing is the same. Yes Assassin's Creed has Free Roaming but it was never intended to be a free roam on the scale of GTA or Oblivion. If you were expecting that you were bound to be disappointed from the start. I can tell you obviously hate the game so I don't know why I'm bothering to try to argue.

I'm confused! How did this thread get bumped? It says last updated today, but the last post is almost a year old... Very odd, but since it is bumped I actually will add my thoughts in an effort to stay on topic. What I found most interesting about this thread is that some people actually like Hitman! All I hear from my friends is how bad the mechanics are or generally negative opinions of Hitman, but after reading this thread I am reconsidering Hitman, because I have always wanted to play it but never have because of my friends' opinions. Then again, last time I trusted a friend my girlfriend ran away with my dog! I knew I shouldn't have trusted that mutt!

Edit: D'Oh! There's a poll! I hate answering my own questions... Nevermind!
