Well of course it was #1 of the 90s, because it was played so damn much. It was the anthem of teen angst. A great song, but over played and over used. Everyone in H.S. now plays it and is like...this song is about me! It's quite gay. The other songs are far better by a longshot tho...

BLASPHEMY!!!! I'll agree that he is definitely not the best vocalist ever but Jimmy Paige is one of the Top 3 guitarists of all time. His solo in Stairway is amazing and the entire song is the song of the entire 70s generation, much like Teen Spirit is of the 90s. If you took the top song from every generation from 1950-2000, I can almost guarantee the general consensus would be Stairway. It's the most recognizeable and best, plain and simple.
