Call of Duty 4 Tournament Rules, Brackets and Sub Requirements
All rounds will be played within 7 days of the round start date. Any games not played will result in an automatic forfeit. There will be NO extensions or leeway. One (1) forfeit and you are out of the tournament completely.
You may, if you have to, play with less than 5 people, so that your team does not forfeit. It is on the team Captains to decide when the games will be played.
All rounds will be played as Team Deathmatch only. This will ensure a fair play all around. This will ease the risk of camping for victories.
There will be 3 rounds of play. The host will switch between teams between each round. Each map will have already been chosen ahead of time via Random.org generator. In the unlikely event of a tie in the third and final round, the teams will play the first map over again.
Rounds will be to 500 pts, 10 minutes in length.
The Tournament will be DOUBLE ELIMINATION. The bracket will be posted today.
All perks and guns are authorized, to include Airstrikes and Choppers.
Don’t be a sore loser. When you lose, you lose. It just wasn’t your day. But rest assured you will have another chance due to the Double Elim. Style of tournament.
Don’t be a sore winner either. If you win, say good game and move on. Don’t be an ass and rub it in anyone’s face. That is plain rude and unsportsmanlike.
There will be no wins by default for the championship game(s). If, for some reason, one of the teams forfeits out, the 3rd place team will step up into the finals. Where, the game will be 1 match of 3 rounds winner take all.
There will be HP awarded to the 1st and 2nd place teams. There will also be a site Achievement, to be awarded to the same. Timeframe on achievement may vary, but know that you will not be forgotten.
There is only 1 map that will be off limits. Shipment. Any team or teams found to be attempting to use this map or to use any map that is not on the given maps for that week will be disqualified from the tournament, and may be barred from participating in community driven events in the future. * Rules are subject to change. New rules may be implemented depending on the situation that arises.

Subs - All subs will be approved by a staff member. If you do not post saying you are needing a sub or have a sub to replace, and that player plays without staff knowledge, then your team will be disqualified.

There is already 1 player on the subs list, and he will be used before any other subs are brought in. Any team caught using a sub before this sub has been used, will be disqualified from the tournament.

The tournament will last from 1 Feb-9 Mar. Week 4 is one I want everyone to pay attention to. One team will have to play twice (2 times) that week, but it will also last from 22 Feb - 2 Mar, giving ample time to play. So plan accordingly. Any questions or concerns will be directed to myself. Please feel free to discuss these rules in this thread.

Honestly there will be no arguments regarding the gametype selected. Team Deathmatch is a common gametype that everyone would be familiar with. Aside from that there weren't any complaints about the Halo 3 tournament which was slayer the same as deathmatch. That set the precedent; had their been arguments about CTF or Assault it might be different. This is how its going to be for this game, maybe next time we'll change the format up. :)

I want to re-iterate that teams shouldn't be planning these games two days before their time is up. I can't tell you how childish it looks when everyone is scrambling at the last minute to get it done. Let's not procrastinate and get the games done as quickly as possible.

I was/am disappointed in how many teams have actually played when they were supposed to and who they were supposed to. If you have a tight schedule then maybe you should re-think your involvement in tournaments.

Basically I'm just asking that everyone make sure they do this right.

Why would he do that? The captains can just PM/talk to each other via Live and see when is a good time for everybody.

NO thread...Caulk got it right..the Captains need to talk with their teams and other captains. People don't always read posts, but they check their PM's and live messages.

How do we determine which team gets host first? And does the other team get to pick spawns? Should we still play the third round if there is a victor after two?

Honestly, with Host, it doesn't matter. Whomever hosts first, the next team will host next.

Spawn Points....non host chooses which side they spawn on.

Round 3...if a team has won rounds 1 and 2, of course you WOULD NOT play. Why waste your time?

We only waited 20 minutes for your team to get together at the start. Anyone who was in that match can testify that we waited around and even said a few times that we'd sub in and out. At that point your team decided that your "fifth" would be online in "seven" minutes. You decided to use that sub, we didn't make you.

I am on Commander Caulks Team. And I would like to say that the claims made against our team are absolutely ridiculous and was purely an attempt to win by default. If you really want to talk about breaking rules, lets talk about all the rules that you broke. Lets begin that you refused to start the game 4 vs 5. Witch is clearly stated in the rules that you are allowed to play 4 vs 5 if one player cannot show up. Unfortunately one of our player couldn't make it, but they still refused to start the game. Then they told us to get a "sub". Thinking this is our only option, we invite a "unregistered player" (The only reason we did this is because they still refused to start the game). Another rule that has been broken by the opposing team is the fact that they started the game with friendly fire on. The worst part about the friendly fire was that they didn't tell us anything about it, resulting is several friendly fire kills on our team. Regardless of the tweaked rules we still won two consecutive shutouts, we got overly exited and some of us started arguing or "trash talking" with the other team.

I raely don't see why trash talking should even be included in the arguement. There just try to throw excuses around hoping people will listen to them.

In conclusion, this is obviously an attempt to win by default. and it disgusts me to think of anyone buying into there pathetic excuses. Thank you for reading my post and I hope you understand the crappy situation brought upon us.

Well if thats the case then I believe some bannings might be in order.

Look I don't know what happened, to be honest I don't really care. I enjoy living in my own little world where everyone is civil to each other, acts and things logically, just has fun, and is nice and graceful to everyone. Obviously thats not the case and something has happened.

My advice to everyone is to stop posting for the night, throw Shadowrun, Assassin's Creed, DMC 4, or Crackdown in the 360 and have a nice quiet night or whats left of it. As for whatever has transpired let Rocket handle it. I don't want to see this thread popping back up again containing messages with all caps lock or attacks at other members. Is that clear?

Well, I am on commanders side for this one, Sure we did lose against him and sure they did talk a bit of trash, but we were good losers and we took our loss and moved on with the tourney.

Marven on the other hand, should read the rules and understand the circumstances before you are the host/leader of the game. But commander you should have told him and said not to start the game, and if he did then just tell your team to leave.

I would be hella pissed if i were you caulk, If i was tourney director i would DQ marven for not understanding the rules and regulations. But rocket thats up to you and i am not going to argue how this situation concludes. Those are just my two cents on how it should have went etc.

The bottom line is this:

Subs - All subs will be approved by a staff member. If you do not post saying you are needing a sub or have a sub to replace, and that player plays without staff knowledge, then your team will be disqualified.

Whether or not Mavren started the game or not, or refused to start it does not matter. Simple fact is that you didn't have to play. The mere fact that a non site member was in a SITE SANCTIONED tournament is immediate grounds for a DQ.

You and your team Caulk did not have to play, you could have just left the match and rescheduled, but you broke the rules.

Now, the Friendly Fire issue. If this is true, Mavren your team is also Disqualified.
