As some of you might know I recently got a Plextor video capture device specifically built for the Mac. It came with EyeTV as the recording software and can be somewhat of a bitch to figure out how to work. I've recorded my video but am now at a loss as to how to edit it. I can export it to iDVD but to be honest I don't want it to be put on a DVD; I'm wanting to post it up on Youtube so I can then link it to the site for all to see.

What I'm wanting to do is fade out at a certain point and plug in a "watermark" which will be shown on every frame. What program do you all recommend I use? It can be either PC or Mac, granted I can pull the file off my Mac in its Mpeg-4 format. Let me know, thanks.

Sony Vegas ;)

But actually it's probably a bit too complicated for something so simple... I'm sure there are easier programs to utilize on the Mac for this :)

I am a big fan of NERO software. It is amazing, and it has a ton of features and capabilities. I am pretty sure it is Mac compatible. I highly recommend to any users.

If it is not available, I heard some good stuff about a program made by Apple called Final Cut.

Defiantly Sony Vegas, I use it all the time, and if you want to be like pro at making videos, get Adobe After Affects and Adobe Premier.

But Sony Vegas for just simple stuff at first, then the other two for more advance users.

But I don't have a Mac so I wouldn't know any video editing software specifically for Mac.

Final Cut is my favorite. It's only for Macs. I use it at High School.

I use Sony Vegas on my PC, since I cannot afford my own Mac yet.

I use Avid Professional at Tech. It's a little bit complicated, but it's the most widely used professional editing software in the industry, although Final Cut is biting at its heels.

Adobe Premiere is also good as well.

Those 4 really get up into more professional editing though, and if your trying to do something similar imovie should do fine. ijohn mentioned Nero, which is quite good too. Pinnacle Studio is very simple as well, and I believe it's cheaper than some of the others, in it's basic form.

I do general Vlogs on youtube and imovie is alright it hasn't got the features as the old version which sucks.. but if you get a copy of final cut pro you should be very pleased with that!
